About me

I am a qualified Gestalt psychotherapist, supervisor, and a couples’ therapist with many years of experience  working with individuals, couples, children, and groups. I provide a welcoming and supportive space, and am there with my clients in the process of attending to their feelings, expressing them, and finding new ways of getting their needs met.
 

Qualifications:

Certificate in couples work
MSC in Gestalt psychotherapy,
MA in counselling,
Diploma in Dance Movement Therapy,
B.Ed in Creative Education.

Inspiration:

I aim to attend to clients' words as well as their embodied experience, and their imagination. In sessions, attention may be drawn to clients’ breathing, levels of muscle tension, or to metaphors and images that come up through the work. While our minds can often be detached from our felt experience, our body can give us a much more accurate information about our actual feelings. Sometimes it’s only through focusing on our bodily experience that we become aware that we are stressed, or angry. Focusing on the body is also an excellent way to destress and reduce anxiety. Combining a creative, playful approach, enables us to tap into our unconscious wisdom and have a deeper sense of our experience.

Experience:​

I have been working with individuals and couples in the private and voluntary sectors, and have been counselling children and their parents in schools since 2001. I have worked as a psychotherapist at a women’s centre for many years and had run therapy-groups there. I have also been supervising trainee and qualified counsellors in their individual and couples work for many years.
